Day 5 – Praise

Praise ye the Lord: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely. Psa. 147:1 David tells us that praising our Heavenly Father is good, pleasant and comely for the Christian. Have you ever known a Christian who is full of praise? This person does not suffer from discouragement or self-pity. Why? Because the Christian is busy praising God for all the blessings God has bestowed upon him. How many sunrises and sunsets have you seen in your lifetime? How many of them have been identical? Each one is painted by the Master for our good pleasure! Our God, the Creator of all, is deserving of praise. [To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.] The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. (Psa. 19:1) I praise You, Lord. [To the chief Musician upon Gittith, A Psalm of David.] O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens. (Psa. 8:1)

One does not have to look far to see God’s Hand in their life. God’s Hand is seen in every aspect of our lives, dear Christian. Open your eyes and look around you. We’re having a snow storm here today. Instead of griping, praise God for the intricacies of each snowflake. No two snowflakes are alike. Can you imagine all the snow that has fallen from the beginning of time through today all over this earth? Yet, each flake is different! Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow? or hast thou seen the treasures of the hail, (Job 38:22) I praise You, Lord. [To the chief Musician upon Gittith, A Psalm of David.] O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens. (Psa. 8:1)

All of God’s creation has something unique about it. There are many differences even within each species. The Angel fish is such a beautiful fish. But our God didn’t just create one for our pleasure, but He created many different kinds with various colors. He didn’t stop with one or even a few, but He created at least 20 that I know of – and I’m sure there are more I haven’t seen pictures of. …they shall be a place to spread forth nets; their fish shall be according to their kinds, as the fish of the great sea, exceeding many. (Eze 47:10b) I praise You, Lord. [To the chief Musician upon Gittith, A Psalm of David.] O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens. (Psa. 8:1)

Looking to the skies, one can see so much to praise God about. The Northern Lights are probably one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen for myself, other than a rainbow. Again, not only does the Lord give us a light show, but He changes each one making them different. Some look like blankets unfolding in the sky while others look like beautiful ripples of cream, varying in color. Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain: (Psa. 104:2)I praise You, Lord. [To the chief Musician upon Gittith, A Psalm of David.] O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens. (Psa. 8:1)

Each human being that has been created by the Master’s hand is different – unique – with different DNA, fingerprints, even amongst identical twins! They are like the snowflakes, each one special in God’s eyes. God knows each part of each human being He has created. But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows. (Luk 12:7) Can you say that about your own children? I praise You, Lord. [To the chief Musician upon Gittith, A Psalm of David.] O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens. (Psa. 8:1)

Praise ye the Lord: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely. Psa.. 147:1 Join me today and enjoy singing praises to God! Show Him how much you appreciate what He has done for you! When you come out of your praise time with Him, you will be hard pressed to remember your troubles. After all, this same God who provided you with all things beautiful will care for you and your troubles!

Dear God…
How majestic is Your name in all the earth
There is none other like the Lord our God
May your praises be on my lips each day
Declaring Your wonderful works with awe
