Counting My Blessings – I wrote this on November 27, 2007, to celebrate Thanksgiving. My youngest son was in Marine Corps training in Oklahoma and was not able to be with us. I had to encourage myself in the Lord. No better way to do this than to be thankful for what you have!
Destiny – I wrote this poem on May 2, 2006. I had just received a rubber stamp depicting the Lord as a child standing by Joseph’s work bench. The sun was shining through the window as Jesus was playing and his shadow was depicted as the Cross of Calvary. This rubber stamp inspired the poem.
Faithful – This poem was written sometime in 1981 but I’m not sure when. It is one of my first ones, I know that. I was impressed to write about God’s faithfulness in my life even when I was not so faithful.

The Comforter – 1981 was when I discovered that the Lord had given me this gift of poetry. I was working at a company where the people I supported traveled a great deal and I had a lot of idle time on my hands. This is the year where I probably wrote more poetry than all of my poetry combined. My salvation was a big deal and I loved to write about the One who saved me.
