1 Cor. 15:52  In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Are We in the End Times? Day 25

(2 Ti 3:8)  Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

Good morning, Reader! Winter is here and the beautiful warm days of Fall have disappeared and ushered in the bitter, windy cold. The sunshine is deceiving when looking out from a nice warm house. 😎 Once I stepped outside, Winter reminded me exactly what season we’re in LOL!

But isn’t this example indicative of mankind? They appear to have a good life on the outside, but their heart on the inside is a an evil and reprobate heart. This heart is one of those sins evident in the end times and we can truly see it today, can’t we?

If you’re not famlilar with the word reprobate, its meaning as it refers to the faith from today’s verse is:

REPROBATE, a. [L. reprobatus, reprobo, to disallow; re and probo, to prove.]

Abandoned to error, or in apostasy. 2 Tim 3.
REP’ROBATE, n. A person abandoned to sin; one lost to virtue and religion.
I acknowledge myself a reprobate, a villain, a traitor to the king.

The Scriptures are our source of truth, as we have learned thus far, amen?

Jer 6:15  Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith the LORD.

(Jer 6:19)  Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened unto my words, nor to my law, but rejected it.

Jeremiah tried to explain the attitude of the heart of man during these end times. As you read verse 15 above, these people will not be ashamed at their sinful abominations, nor will they “blush” with shame and embarrassment when these sins are spoken. What are the abominations spoken of in Scripture?

  1. Homsexuality – Leviticus 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
  2. Pride, lies, shedding of innocent blood, a heart that schemes wickedness, feet that run to cause harm, damage; a false witness, one who causes problems amongst church members. (Pro 6:16-19)  These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: (17)  A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, (18)  An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, (19)  A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
  3. Sacrifices of the wicked – Proverbs 15:8 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.
  4. Person who turns away the Gospel – Proverbs 28:9 He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.
  5. Thoughts of the wicked – Proverbs 15:26 The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the LORD: but the words of the pure are pleasant words.

Everyday, ordinary people are guilty of most of these abominations! Jeremiah continued to say what happens to the reprobate:

Jer 6:30  Reprobate silver shall men call them, because the LORD hath rejected them

Are you going to be one of those people who fall under the five categories above? Are you:

➡ a homosexual ➡ prideful ➡ liar ➡ have had or promote abortion ➡ do you continue to do something evil ➡ do you cause harm to others or damage to their property ➡ are you a false witness ➡ do you cause problems in your church ➡ are you religious and perform sacrifices thinking that will earn your way to Heaven ➡ have you turned away the Gospel ➡ are your thoughts wicked

My friend, this is just a reminder to us how evil these end times are. The heart of man is wicked, even though you don’t think yourself as wicked, at least not compared to the next guy. But compare yourself to God – He is holy and He is the measuring stick for our morality.

(Jer 17:9)  The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

If you are born again, spread the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ before it is eternally too late to do so. Rapture can happen at any moment and that opportunity ceases.

Are We in the End Times? Day 24

(2 Ti 3:8)  Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

Good morning, Reader! As you can probably tell, I love lighthouses, sunrises, sunsets and nature. All of my pictures are images that friends have shared with me and given me permission to use. Todays ‘picture blesses me because I look at lighthouses in two different ways. First, I see the lighthouse as Christ’s light shining to show us the way to salvation. Secondly, I see the lighthouse as Christians lighting the way for unbelievers to find salvation. I pray that this blog would be a lighthouse to all who come here: whether it is to grow in Christ so you can be a lighthouse to others or to find Christ. I pray both are accomplished here for His glory and honor! Praise Him!

Today’s verse is a continuation of yesterday’s post but to further define the hearts of Jannes and Jambres. Yesterday we saw that they resisted the truth. Today, we dig deeper and see that they were men of corrupt minds. Corrupt in today’s English is not as harsh as Noah Webster’s definition:

To vitiate or deprave; to change from good to bad.
Evil communications corrupt good manners. 1 Cor 15.

To waste, spoil or consume.
Lay not up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt. Mat 6.

To defile or pollute. Exo 32.

To entice from good and allure to evil. 2 Cor 11.

To pervert; to break, disobey or make void. Mal 2.

To pervert or vitiate integrity; to bribe; as, to corrupt a judge.

To debase or render impure, by alterations or innovations; as, to corrupt language.

To pervert; to falsify; to infect with errors; as, to corrupt the sacred text.

I shake my head in disbelief when I read through each of these. The definition caused me to understand exactly why Jannes and Jambres were described as this. Now we see more meaning in the verse, don’t we?

Now compare the definition with what is currently going on in this world and you will be able to unequivocally see that we are in the end times. Remember, these two men were so evil that they drowned in the Red Sea along with Pharaoh’s army! They didn’t die alongside their countrymen in war but along side the enemy! Worldwide today we see that mankind is at the same level as Jannes and Jambres. Let’s break down the definition and compare it with today’s attitudes and what the Bible says about this:

To vitiate or deprave; to change from good to bad. Evil communications corrupt good manners. 1 Cor 15.

(1 Co 15:33)  Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.

When in time have you ever seen the audacity of people on social media and the news? Things are said that would never have been put on the news or spoken in public like we see today! Song lyrics are filthy and billboards reveal half naked women (which used to be considered pornography when I was growing up). It doesn’t end there – just stand in line at the grocery store and listen to people speaking around you. It won’t be but a minute when you hear evil communication coming out of their mouths. But can you imagine if you were surrounded by people such as these? If you’re not a born again Christian, you will fall into the same pattern as them and will speak the same way. If you are a born again Christian, you cringe and try to remove yourself from the situation.

Men of corrupt minds will try to deceive, just like the master deceiver himself, Satan. They corrupt the Bible by diluting its truth through various versions (over 100 today) and corrupt teaching. Homosexuals preach from the pulpit and push the LGBTQ agenda. The world has accepted into law the sin of murdering children.

(Pro 6:16-17)  These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: (17)  A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,

(Psa 127:3)  Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

If being pregnant (the fruit of the womb) is God’s reward to mankind, then surely He considers their death as the shedding of innocent blood and it brings punishment, not reward. Did you know that every girl baby in the womb already has the eggs she will need to have future children? A woman, therefore, is not only killing her own daughter, but she is killing her future granddaughters as well! That’s a lot to think about. What makes matters worse, it is now OK to kill that baby right before it is delivered! It is murder, plain and simple, and it is the law of this land!

Corrupt minds, just like corrupt politicians, have one thing in common and that is to spread that corruption. They turn a truth into a lie and repeat it often enough that people begin to believe that lie. We see it in abortion, we’re currently seeing it in what the media reports.

But the Tribulation is coming, friend, and the antichrist will deceive many. If you are not born again, you will be alive to see this. The trigger for the end times was Israel becoming a nation in 1948. Jesus said that the generation who witnessed this event would not pass away and would be alive for the end times. Israel is referenced as the fig tree in Scriptures:

(Mat 24:32-34)  Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: (33)  So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. (34)  Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

What is Jesus referring to when He says “when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.”? We must read the beginning of the chapter:

(Mat 24:3-12)  And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? (4)  And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. (5)  For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. (6)  And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. (7)  For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. (8)  All these are the beginning of sorrows. (9)  Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. (10)  And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. (11)  And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. (12)  And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

Just reading through this list of things that have already happened and will happen, convinces me that we are in these times. Jesus said, these were all to happen after Israel became a nation.

You may be thinking that you have a whole lot of time ahead of you but you do not know if you will die today or not! You also do not know when Christ will Rapture the church. Once He does, that door is closed and you will have to go through the Tribulation. Those who become Christians during the Tribulation will lose their lives.

(Rev 6:8-10)  And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth. (9)  And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: (10)  And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

Right now, at this point in time, things are getting worse with every week that goes by. People are easily deceived and they follow the one with the loudest voice who agrees with and promotes their sins. Because we see this attitude in our Country, God says:

(2Th 2:11-12)  And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: (12)  That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Friend, are you born again today? If you are, let this be motivation for you to tell others. If you are not, this post is for you! It’s your wake up call. There will come a point where you will no longer able to see, hear or understand the truth. Don’t let that be you!

It is no coincidence that you are here reading this. God has placed you here for such a time as this so that you may be saved. Please click here and the link will open up in a separate tab to You Can Be Born Again and Know It!

Are We in the End Times? Day 23

(2 Ti 3:8)  Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

Good morning! As we approach the Christmas season, I am reminded of the real reason Christians should be celebrating this time. It should not be a time of gifts but the fact that we are rejoicing that a Saviour came to die for us, amen? Let’s admit that we cannot go a day without the realization that we are sinners, saved by the grace of God. His mercy is never ending! I can keep going to Him for forgiveness and there is forgiveness to be had! Praise Him!!

Today’s Scripture verse revolves around resisting the truth. I searched the Scriptures for Jannes and Jambres but they are not named in the Old Testament. My research revealed that according to Jewish tradition, they were sons of Balaam. If you recall, in Numbers chapters 22-24, God would talk to Balaam and he would seek God’s word to pass on to Balak. Balak wanted Balaam to curse the Israelites. But Balaam told him that he could not “go beyond the word of the LORD my God, to do less or more.” (Lev. 22:18) Although it appeared that Balaam was one of the good guys, he actually did not end well. His love for riches would get the better of him.

(2 Pe 2:15)  Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;

Balaam’s sons must have followed in their father’s footsteps, and ended up the worse for it. According to tradition, it is said that the sons were at first teachers, then opponents of Moses. They perished with the Egyptians in the Red Sea.

So what, you may ask, does this have to do with today’s Scripture? Their names are there for a reason. Scripture said that they withstood (opposed) Moses and resisted “the truth.” Moses was God’s representative to the Israelites in whom God used to give the Law (the Ten Commandments). Some people just don’t like to be told what to do. It’s the sin of pride that bubbles up in their heart and they won’t admit they need someone over them.

So what is this truth that they resisted? It’s like the question, “What is the meaning of life?”. But the truth is actually much easier to find because we have THE TRUTH right at our fingertips. The truth can be found in God’s Word because Christ is the Word of God and He left us all that we would need in the Bible, all of which is truth!

(Joh 1:14)  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

(Joh 1:17)  For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

(Joh 4:23)  But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

There is no other truth, Reader. Christ is the truth – Scripture points to Him in the Old Testament and Christ the Messiah is revealed in the New Testament. All of Scripture points us to the truth. With truth comes great grace! According to Noah Webster’s 1828 Dictionary, grace means:

“The free unmerited love and favor of God, the spring and source of all the benefits men receive from him.

Praise the Lord that we can receive God’s grace because there’s nothing we can do of ourselves to purchase or earn that grace. It is FREE and undeserved love and favor from God! This is truth!

(Joh 8:32)  And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Why would God point us to truth if it’s not going to do a bit of good on where we spend eternity? That would make Him a liar and a cruel God. We all know that He is not.

(Num 23:19)  God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

Dear Reader, please know that you are so important to God because you are His creation. He created us to have fellowship with Him. By our own choice (first with Adam and Eve), we sin and separate ourselves from Him. But in His great mercy, our Father provided a way for that gap (separation) to be mended (healed) through Jesus Christ. Jesus, the King and LORD of Lords, left His heavenly throne to take on human form. In that human form, He lived a sinless life so He could be the sacrificial Lamb of God for all man. He died on the cross to shed His own blood for the forgiveness of our sins. In so doing, He paid our sin debt and we are set free from sin’s bondage❣ It did not end there! Christ rose from the dead and went back to His throne. He will come to Rapture believers to Heaven before the Tribulation begins. We know we are near that great hour of Tribulation because of the state of humankind. You are seeing this through this study; I beg you to please respond to the call of the Holy Spirit.

(2 Co 6:2)  (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

Don’t resist the truth, I beg of you! If you are saved, please use these devotionals to set a fire in your heart to tell others. That is the whole purpose of this blog! If you happen to be reading this and are not saved, it is no coincidence. God has placed you here for such a time as this so that you may be saved.
