Prophecy of Messiah:

Psalms 88:8  Thou hast put away mine acquaintance far from me; thou hast made me an abomination unto them: I am shut up, and I cannot come forth.

As I sit here thinking about all the Messianic prophecies I have blogged on, I’m amazed at how many scoffers are still out there. Their hearts are truly hardened! These scoffers are no different than Pharaoh whose heart was hardened against Israel. Despite all the warnings given to him by Moses, Pharaoh still resisted. He resisted to the point where he lost his own son! What is it going to take for the lost today? If you haven’t read my series on the “End Times,” please do so. The link will take you to the first day of the series. If you’re not convinced that we are the end time generation after reading this series, then you are one of the scoffers. (2 Peter 3:3)

This is the last post in our series. Today’s verse, Psalm 88:8, we see that the Messiah’s followers would stand far from Him. We also see that the Messiah would be an abomination to those followers. Jesus Christ became a sacrifice for sin on their behalf! Sin is and should be an abomination to us! We should not dwell in sin and let it rule our lives.

The last part of the verse says that “I am shut up, and I cannot come forth.” It’s as though Jesus was a prisoner and confined to quarters! He could not leave the cross because He had a mission to accomplish, which was the salvation of the entire world. (John 3:16)

Prophecy of Messiah Fulfilled:

Luke 23:49  And all his acquaintance, and the women that followed him from Galilee, stood afar off, beholding these things.

As Jesus hung on the cross awaiting His own death, those who followed Him throughout His three-year ministry, were standing “afar off” watching Jesus die. In and of itself, this would not be much to prove Jesus is the Messiah. However, as I’ve said in previous posts, combine all that we’ve covered thus far with this one, the proof is surely there!

On a side note, can you imagine being one of the followers who stood and watched your Saviour hang on that cross? It would be heart wrenching! Or would you be one of those cold-hearted scoffers who went to the “event” just to witness the spectacle? Friend, although all these things had to happen in order for Christ to redeem us from our sins, we should not fail to remember the agony He experienced in order to purchase our redemption!

Do you know the Messiah, Jesus Christ, personally or do you only know of Him? I want to be sure that anyone who reads the posts on this blog can know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are going to Heaven. Have you received Christ as your Saviour? If no, your sins are not covered by His sacrificial offering of Himself. You have not been redeemed by His blood. It is no coincidence that God has placed you here for such a time as this so that you may be saved if you are not already.
