Maranatha - Awaiting Christ's Return

1 Cor. 15:52  In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Messianic Prophecies Fulfilled by Jesus – Day 29

Prophecy of Messiah:

Psalm 2:7  I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

Good morning! What a wonderful way to start the day! Spending time with the Lord in His Word during the early hours is the best way for me to give all of my focus and attention. It’s this quiet time that I am blessed with a verse or thought that just absolutely makes my day! When is your favorite time? Is it a set schedule or are you the type that enjoys spending various periods of time in the course of your day?

Can you imagine being present when today’s verse was fulfilled? I can only imagine what the disciples thought! If they knew their Old Testament, they would have recognized that the prophecy that David wrote was fulfilled in their own lifetime! How exciting is that!? I see prophecy being fulfilled today about the end times and I stand amazed that these things were written since creation through 90 AD! Anyone reading this blog knows how I enjoy the end-time prophecies and what is happening and about to happen to those who are left during the tribulation on this earth. So I can imagine how those in Jesus’ time felt when they heard and saw this fulfilled! Can’t you?

Prophecy of Messiah Fulfilled:

Matthew 3:17  And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Scripture doesn’t say if everyone heard the voice from Heaven. But in the Gospel of John, it is written that John the Baptist said:

John 1:31-34  And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.  (32)  And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.  (33)  And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.  (34)  And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.

So we read that John the Baptist heard and saw what happened. God made sure that John would recognize the Messiah when He came. John attested to it and even gave a little more information in the following verses:

John 1:29  The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

John 1:35-36  Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples;  (36)  And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!

As if this wasn’t enough, he goes on to say “Behold the Lamb of God!” John the Baptist knew when this prophecy was fulfilled the day of Jesus’ baptism, that he had encountered the Lamb of God who would take away the sins of man. The sacrificial lamb offered by the high priest for the sins of Israel would no longer be sufficient. The new covenant was here: Jesus Christ, our High Priest, would offer Himself as the perfect and spotless Sacrificial Lamb for the remission of all our sins, not just Israel’s! o/ Praise the Lord!

Do you know Him personally or do you only know of Him? I want to be sure that anyone who reads the posts on this blog can know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are going to Heaven. Have you received Christ as your Saviour? If no, your sins are not covered by His sacrificial offering of Himself. You have not been redeemed by His blood. It is no coincidence that God has placed you here for such a time as this so that you may be saved if you are not already. Messianic Prophecies Fulfilled by Jesus – Day 28

Prophecy of Messiah:

Psalm 2:6  Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.

Good morning, reader! Of all the titles for the Lord Jesus Christ, the Messiah, my absolute favorite is King! There are still a few kings who reign over a country today. King Charles III is the most recent in the news. However, today’s kings are not going to rule forever. Our kings are human beings and will eventually die. But the King we will be discussing today is the ultimate King. He is the King of kings!

This same King of Heaven left His throne to become a man who would live a sinless life because mankind could not even come close. This same King then became the perfect sacrifice for all sins! This same King rose from the dead with a glorified body and became the first to do so (Mark 16:6). We will also receive a glorified body at the Rapture if we believe on Him as Saviour! This same King gave His life for His people so that they could live and reign with Him. (2Timothy 2:11)

Prophecy of Messiah Fulfilled:

Matthew 2:2  Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

Revelation 17:14  These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

Our King is coming back for us! We will be raptured to Him in the clouds AND we will also come back with King Jesus after the Tribulation to reign with Him! (Revelation 19:11-16) Who would have thought that we would personally know a King? Not only just a king but THE KING OF KINGS and LORD OF LORDS (Revelation 19:16)! People like to think of Him as the baby Jesus – but I love to think of Him as King Jesus, MY King! The only King!

Do you know the King personally or do you only know of Him? I want to be sure that anyone who reads the posts on this blog can know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are going to Heaven. Have you received Christ as your Saviour? If no, your sins are not covered by His sacrificial offering of Himself. You have not been redeemed by His blood. It is no coincidence that God has placed you here for such a time as this so that you may be saved if you are not already. Messianic Prophecies Fulfilled by Jesus – Day 27

Prophecy of Messiah:

Job 19:23-27  Oh that my words were now written! oh that they were printed in a book!  (24)  That they were graven with an iron pen and lead in the rock for ever!  (25)  For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:  (26)  And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:  (27)  Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.

Good morning, reader! Have you ever wondered which book of the Bible is the oldest or which one is the newest? Or who was the person who lived the longest? What I love the most is that I can always seem to find answers to my questions in my Bible. It is the book of knowledge and wisdom according to Proverbs 2:6, amen? God wrote the book through His Holy Spirit (2Peter 1:20-21) and therefore He provides us with both knowledge and wisdom when we read His Word.

Job is said to be the oldest book. Job doesn’t mention Moses and the Law so he probably lived during the time of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Furthermore, Job offered sanctified his children and offered a burnt offering for all of them. Only the priests did this so Job must have existed prior to the Law.

Just think of this for a moment, Job says how he wished that his words were written and printed in a book! Well they were! More than that, he wanted them written with an iron pen and lead in the ROCK for ever. Jesus is the Word of God (Revelation 19:13) – the Father in Heaven sent His Son to be the Father’s words in the flesh. Jesus is the spoken Word of God (John 1:1, John 1:14, Hebrews 1:3) and His Holy Spirit penned it on paper through His prophets and Apostles. (John 14:26, 2Peter 1:20-21)

Even at this early time in history, Job knew that he would see his Redeemer and that he would partake in the resurrection of life!

Prophecy of Messiah Fulfilled:

John 5:24-29  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.  (25)  Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.  (26)  For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;  (27)  And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.  (28)  Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,  (29)  And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

Doesn’t this give you goosebumps? It sure does for me! These words were recorded for us in the Scriptures so we would be excited about the upcoming resurrection of life for all believers! Unfortunately, there will also be another resurrection: not unto life but unto death! I can’t imagine someone not caring about what happens to them after they die. If they only knew the pain and suffering that awaits them. If you knew that your house would catch on fire during the night on a specific day, wouldn’t you make sure that your smoke detectors were functioning and batteries were new? Of course you would. It’s no different with where you will spend eternity! We have the Bible, which is our smoke detector (no pun intended). In it are the words of eternal life for all who will believe in Jesus Christ, our Saviour! You can find out what that will be like by just reading the Scriptures! All the answers are there!

Hell Is No Laughing Matter

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:A_loose_necktie

The best place to start when you want to learn about Hell is with Jesus. He spoke about it in great detail in today’s Scriptures. In this particular instance, Jesus is not speaking in parables. Parables didn’t have names associated to the person. However, in today’s Scriptures, Jesus speaks of Lazarus and a rich man. To me, this is the best depiction of what it will be like in Hell. So let’s read the account:

Luk 16:19-31  There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:  (20)  And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,  (21)  And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.  (22)  And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;  (23)  And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.  (24)  And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.  (25)  But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.  (26)  And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.  (27)  Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house:  (28)  For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.  (29)  Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.  (30)  And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.  (31)  And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

Just because you don’t believe there is a Heaven or a Hell, doesn’t mean they don’t exist. What if you’re wrong? Are you always 100% right in everything you think? Of course not! So what if you’re wrong thinking that Hell doesn’t exist?

Proverbs 14:12  There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Let’s take a look at what’s going on in the account of the rich man and Lazarus:

  1. This was not a parable because parables never mentioned names. In today’s Scripture, Jesus named the poor man, Lazarus. Jesus knew him by name. (Exodus 33:12, Exodus 33:17) Just as I don’t know everyone else’s children’s names, but I do know my own, so does God know the names of each one of those who love Him and are saved.
  2. The rich man lived in luxury here on earth. He had expensive clothing and plenty to eat. Lazarus, on the other hand, had rags and looked for scraps to fall from the rich man’s table so he could eat. In fact, the rich man’s dogs licked Lazarus’ sores! Their lives on earth could not have been any more opposite. This isn’t to say that it is wrong to be rich. What is wrong is that the rich man had no compassion toward those in need. His focus was on himself and how to please his own flesh.
  3. Notice how each one died. Lazarus was carried away by the angels into Abraham’s bosom. The rich man, on the other hand, was simply buried and went to Hell.
  4. Let’s take a look at the circumstances in their destination. Lazarus was in Abraham’s bosom. This gives us a view of being hugged and in comfort. While Lazarus was on earth, he was neglected and alone. But now he was being comforted. In Hell, the rich man, lifted his eyes and could see Lazarus and Abraham afar off. So the rich man was quite conscious of what was happening.
  5. Notice that the rich man was in torment. Noah Webster defines torment as: “Extreme pain; anguish; the utmost degree of misery, either of body or mind.” He was in such pain he was crying. What was the rich man crying about? He was begging for mercy! Notice in verse 24 that he had a thirst that was never to be quenched. Even being in Hell, the rich man was still high and mighty in his unrepentant thoughts. He didn’t ask Abraham to bring water, but to send Lazarus! Also, the rich man was so thirsty that he would have even welcomed a drop of water dripping from Lazarus’ finger! Now I would say, “that’s thirsty”! And why was the rich man thirsty? The verse ends that he is tormented in this flame! If you’ve been working out in the yard on a hot summer day, you are well aware of how thirsty you can get. Not only was the rich man thirsty, but he was burning! Receiving a burn anywhere on your body will produce pain. I think of my worse sunburn and how the pain lasted for a few days. The rich man was in the flames and was not being consumed! He is still burning there and will be for all eternity! His pain will never go away. I also noticed that Lazarus was with Abraham sharing in the joys of Heaven. However, the rich man was not with anyone. He was very much alone.
  6. Abraham reminded the rich man of the reason he was in Hell in the first place. He had all the comforts that his riches could afford him while he was on earth but he didn’t care for his eternal soul. Meanwhile, Lazarus had nothing on this earth but obviously did care about where he would spend eternity. He may have been poor but he was apparently rich in faith.
  7. The rich man thought about his family on earth while he was in torments. He didn’t want them to go to Hell to experience what he was experiencing (vs. 28 “this place of torment.”) But Abraham told the rich man that they had Moses and the prophets to listen to. I found it interesting that the rich man knew his family wouldn’t listen, just as he didn’t listen. Instead, he said that if one from the dead would go to his family, they would repent. But it doesn’t work that way, as we see in Abraham’s reply. He said in verse 31, “If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose form the dead.”

Dear Reader, Hell is a real and literal place. It’s nothing like the humorous skit performed by some comedian. It’s unfortunate that they could not care less about their future! The New Testament speaks more about Hell than Heaven! The warnings are there in the Scriptures. I would venture to say that every home has a Bible in it, whether in print or on their cellphones/computers. No fortune teller or medium can bring anyone back from the dead to warn them. They have the Scriptures which contain all that we need to guide us. It is the road map to Heaven and that is through Jesus Christ.

Joh 14:6  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

There are other Bible verses that tell us about the characteristics of Hell – none of these characteristics are pleasant:

  • Hell is a place where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth (Matthew 8:12). The word gnashing according to Noah Webster means: “Striking the teeth together, as in anger, rage or pain.” Imagine crying because you are in pain yet being so angry with rage because of your bad decisions that placed you in this place for all eternity!
  • Hell is a place of eternal damnation to anyone who denies Christ as Saviour, which is considered blaspheming the Holy Spirit. (Mark 3:29).
  • Hell is a place where the worm doesn’t die (Mark 9:48). Just as worms eat decaying bodies, in this instance, the body will never decay.
  • Hell is a place where the fire is never quenched (Mark 9:48). It will be burning for all eternity.
  • Just as we read in today’s account of the rich man and Lazarus, we see that Hell is a place where those without Christ will cry and beg for mercy. They will have memories of their families. They will be alone. They will be in torments with no way to escape! (Luke 16:19–31).
  • Hell, according to the Apostle Paul, is a place of everlasting destruction, everlasting absence from the presence of the Lord, and everlasting absence of the glory of His power (2 Thessalonians 1:9). It will be too late to accept Christ as Saviour at that point; you will, however, regret your rejection of Him for all eternity.
  • Hell is a bottomless pit filled with dark smoke (Revelation 9:2). Have you ever seen astronauts preparing for their mission in a gravity-free chamber? They float around and do not change direction until they run into an object. Imagine then being in darkness and always falling and never running into anything! How frightening this must be! You can’t see your hand in front of your face and you’re continually falling! The graphic I posted above shows that the darkest part of the flame is black. Although the outer part of the candle can produce light, the black part does not. This is what it will be like in Hell.
  • Hell is a place where God’s wrath is poured out. Those who are there will be tormented with fire and brimstone. Their torment will go on for ever and ever neither will they have rest from their torment! (Revelation 14:10-11).

Just as both the rich man and Lazarus immediately went to their final destination, so will each and every one of us (Hebrews 9:27). It is our choice as to where that destination will be. Have I frightened you? I certainly hope so. Spending eternity in Hell is no laughing matter. Please, friend, I beg you! If you have not been born again, please do so before it’s eternally too late for you. You do not know when you will die. You could be on your way home from work and get in a car accident. If you have read this post through, then you are accountable for knowing the difference between Heaven and Hell. Now let me show you how you can be saved. Don’t be like the rich man! If you are not born again, your sins are not covered by Jesus’ sacrificial offering of Himself. You have not been redeemed by His blood. It is no coincidence that God has placed you here for such a time as this so that you may be saved if you are not already. Messianic Prophecies Fulfilled by Jesus – Day 26

Prophecy of Messiah:

1 Chronicles 17:12-13a  He shall build me an house, and I will stablish his throne for ever.  (13a)  I will be his father, and he shall be my son:

Good morning! Are you awake yet? 😂 I’m on my second cup of coffee and finally seeing straight, LOL! I am sitting here in a warm house, enjoying the beauty of a Fall day in Culpeper, Virginia. We are so blessed to be able to have beauty all around us no matter what our circumstances are. I grew up in a tarpaper shack in Northern Maine where my father worked very hard to make it a home for us. We were taught to be grateful for the roof over our heads and heat to keep us warm during the blistering cold winters. As a result, I grew up appreciating that even though we had bread poured over with milk for every meal for a couple of weeks at a time, it filled our bellies and we didn’t go hungry. It’s all in the perspective of the beholder, amen? What are you appreciative of this morning?

I’m not really sure why I opened with these words but I suppose someone out there needed to read it. So many negative things enter the thoughts of people in today’s world that they have forgotten what is good. The Apostle Paul knew all about the thoughts of man. After all, he was imprisoned, whipped and beaten, boiled in oil, stoned, just to name a few of his tortures. But yet he exhorted us in Philippians 4:8 what we should think about and meditate on; this coming from the man who used to persecute Christians before he was saved.

So let’s get back on track with today’s prophecy of the Messiah. We are told in 1Chronicles 17:13a that the Messiah would be the Son of God.

Prophecy of Messiah Fulfilled:

Heb 1:5  For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?

This prophecy is fulfilled by Jesus Christ and we are told this in Hebrews 1:5. It wasn’t only found in this passage of the New Testament, but was also revealed in Matthew 3:17, Matthew 17:5, Mark 1:11, Mark 9:7, Luke 3:22, Luke 9:35, and 2Peter 1:17. Israel was to recognize that Jesus was revealing Himself as the Son of God as prophesied in the Old Testament. Their leaders knew their Scriptures – they would have recognized what Jesus was claiming. I believe that they understood that Jesus was claiming this and that is why they wanted Him killed. (John 10:33)

Do you recognize the Son of God as Jesus the Messiah? Do you know Him personally or do you only know of Him? I want to be sure that anyone who reads the posts on this blog can know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are going to Heaven. Have you received Christ as your Saviour? If no, your sins are not covered by His sacrificial offering of Himself. You have not been redeemed by His blood. It is no coincidence that God has placed you here for such a time as this so that you may be saved if you are not already. Messianic Prophecies Fulfilled by Jesus – Day 25

It’s a new day and in my brain comes thoughts of Christ’s return to Rapture His Church! Who belongs to His church, you ask? All born-again believers from the time of Jesus’ resurrection to the day of Rapture will be included. I’m not talking about people who claim to be saved but live like the devil. I’m talking about people who actually repented of their old life and have lived for the Lord! (2Corinthians 5:17) I look forward to the Rapture every single day. Why every day? Have you looked around you and thought that the world has literally turned upside down? I look around and see people calling the killing of babies in the womb “good for women”; even up to when they come out of the birth canal 😥 I see “scientists” actually saying there are more than two sexes and cannot define what is a woman! I see church members fighting amongst themselves over social issues. My heart breaks but I know in my heart that God’s Word is always true and He said this would happen. (2Samuel 7:28, Psalm 119:160, John 17:17 and many more) Therefore, that is why I believe with all my heart that the time is here for the Tribulation to begin. (2Timothy 3:1-7) It cannot begin however, until the Rapture has occurred. This is why I think of the Rapture every single day! 😀 These times were prophesied in Isaiah and Jesus spoke of it as well.

Isaiah 5:20  Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

John 3:19  And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

Today’s prophecy of Jesus Christ, our Messiah, is about Him being the Rock. However, to top it off, Samuel also mentions that the Messiah would be the “light.” Do you recall the Scriptures where Jesus taught about building a house on a rock or sand? Jesus said that the person who builds his spiritual life upon a rock, his house would not fall because it was built upon a rock. Because our faith and salvation are based on the Rock, we are solid and safe in Him. You can read more about the Lord being called a rock in: Deuteronomy 32:15, 2Samuel 22:47, 2Samuel 23:3, Psalm 62:7, Psalm 89:26, Psalm 94:22, Psalm 95:1, and Isaiah 17:10. It is no coincidence, friend.

Prophecy of Messiah:

2 Samuel 23:2-4  The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was in my tongue.  (3)  The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.  (4)  And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain.

Notice that the God of Israel was spoken to by the Rock of Israel! If you’re Jewish, this verse should cause you to wonder who in the world is speaking to God!

Jesus is the Rock that is prophesied. The Apostle Paul makes it clear below; as plain as the nose on your face. The Rock is Jesus Christ, the Messiah and Saviour of mankind! This same Jesus sheds His light upon our hearts and leads us to Him through His Word.

Prophecy of Messiah Fulfilled:

1 Corinthians 10:4  And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

John 8:12  Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Don’t walk in darkness, Reader. Please, I beg of you, to make sure that you know Him today. Allow the beautiful light of the Gospel of Christ shine in your hearts; let it shine upon your sins so that you can seek forgiveness, repent (2Corinthians 5:17) and be saved through salvation in Jesus Christ. He will forgive your sins and will lead you to the truth and knowledge in His Word.

Messianic Prophecies Fulfilled by Jesus – Day 24

Prophecy of Messiah:

2 Samuel 7:16  And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.

Good morning, reader! Despite ugly weather outside, the Son should always be shining inside. 😀 Jesus Christ is the light of the world and His light shines every time I open His Word. It illuminates and pierces through the darkness of my understanding. It pricks my heart to see my sin. It’s so awesome to me to be able to read a passage for the umpteenth time and have my eyes are opened to its meaning!! Today is no different.

We see in today’s reading that God promised that David’s kingdom and his throne would be established forever. God’s Word never lies (1Samuel 15:29) and all the prophecies about Messiah Jesus will come true. Amen? Luke 3:31 tells us that the Messiah came from the house of David and Revelation 22:16 confirms it. Every verse in the Bible has a “sister” verse which answers any question our minds can produce.

Prophecy of Messiah Fulfilled:

Luke 3:31  Which was the son of Melea, which was the son of Menan, which was the son of Mattatha, which was the son of Nathan, which was the son of David,

Revelation 22:16  I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

Notice the accuracy in Bible prophecy? There is no mistaking the fact that Messiah would come from the house of David and that Jesus Christ fulfilled this prophecy. You may say that there were thousands of people who descended from the house of David; but while this may be an insignificant fact, when it is combined with the rest of the prophecies fulfilled by Jesus, it adds to the vast amounts of proof. It bears repeating a quote from “Evidence That Demands a Verdict”:

“We find that the chance that any man might have lived down to the present time and fulfilled all eight prophecies is 1 in 10 to the 17th power (1 in 100,000,000,000,000,000).” Jesus fulfilled MUCH more than 8 (Over 300)!

Just think about it! There are over 300 prophecies about the Messiah that Jesus Christ fulfilled. The number above reflects only eight of those prophecies. That ending number would be so large that the human mind cannot comprehend it. Friend, there is no one that has ever lived, or will ever live, who can fulfill even eight of these prophecies, but Jesus Christ fulfilled over 300! You must come to a realization that there is no other who could! Only God Himself can do this. The infinite God fulfilled and continues to fulfill 100% of all prophecies. The Bible teaches that if a prophet was wrong in just one prophecy, that prophet is a fraud! (Deuteronomy 18:21-22)

There are no other books that need to be added along with Scripture that will lead to salvation. No rock in Mecca, no golden plates, no soul traveling or reincarnation can lead you to be “good enough” to gain salvation. Only Jesus Christ, the Son of God and Messiah of all mankind can save:

Acts 4:10-12  Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.  (11)  This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.  (12)  Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Am I being dogmatic about this issue? You bet I am! There are not many roads to Heaven, Reader. We are not left to our own imaginations: God did not leave us without direction or instruction. The Bible is very clear about what we must do to be saved.

John 3:16-19  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  (17)  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.  (18)  He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.  (19)  And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

Messianic Prophecies Fulfilled by Jesus – Day 23

Prophecy of Messiah:

2Samuel 7:12  And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.

Isa 7:14  Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

It’s an absolutely gorgeous morning as I sit and write today’s post. Fall is here and the crispness of the morning air is welcomed after a hot summer. I can almost smell the pumpkin spiced everything as they make their way on the shelves and coffee counters! 😆

Today’s prophecy is about the Messiah coming from the seed of David. This is an important prophecy because, if you recall, Jesus was born in the City of David, also known as Bethlehem. The Jewish leaders would have recognized their Messiah had they been searching for Him. Instead, they were looking for a Messiah whose Kingdom would be set up as stated in 2Samuel 7:12. However, He first came as a babe born to a virgin, Mary, in the City of David as Isaiah 7:14 prophesied! This small detail could not be left out. The Son of God became a man and was born of a virgin in the town of Bethlehem.

Prophecy of Messiah Fulfilled:

Matthew 1:1  The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

This same Jesus will come as a King at the end of the Tribulation. This is known as His Second Coming to Christians and we anxiously await His Kingdom reign! At this same time, Israel will finally recognize that Jesus Christ is their Messiah!

Do you know Jesus the Messiah personally or do you only know of Him? I want to be sure that anyone who reads the posts on this blog can know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are going to Heaven. Have you received Christ as your Saviour? If no, your sins are not covered by His sacrificial offering of Himself. You have not been redeemed by His blood. Messianic Prophecies Fulfilled by Jesus – Day 22

Prophecy of Messiah:

Numbers 24:17  I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth.

What a glorious day! Do you have your favorite beverage in hand and your favorite study Bible? What a way to start the day 🥰!!! Let’s get cracking and unwrap the next prophecy of Messiah and how the Lord Jesus fulfilled it!

We see in Numbers 24:17 above that Balaam was given a vision from God. Balaam says that he would see the Almighty but not now and he would behold Him but not soon. This is a prophetic passage about the coming Messiah. As well, he says that a Star would come out of Jacob, which means that the Messiah would be from one of the twelve tribes of Jacob. He also says that the Messiah is a Sceptre which would rise out of Israel. As I read this, I saw the Messiah’s coming is in two parts. The first as the Star, born in a manger, the Messenger of God, that would give the world God’s Word in the flesh. The second as the Sceptre when He returns at His Second Coming to reign in authority.

Prophecy of Messiah Fulfilled:

Galatians 4:4  But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,

Are you ready to meet Jesus Christ, the Messiah? Israel today missed His first coming. But they will all see Him when He returns as the Sceptre to rule and reign! I could not find who said this quote so I’m attributing it to a message I heard recently on YouTube. The Pastor said:

When Jesus comes at the Second Coming, it is better to see His back than His face!

Some of you may not see Jesus in this manner. How do you see Jesus, Reader? Do you see Him as a baby born in a manger? Do you see Him as your Lord and Shepherd? Do you see Him as the Comforter? Indeed He is all these things. But when Jesus comes again, He will bring judgment to the unbelieving world. (Revelation 1:17-18) The Bride, the Church that is raptured before the Tribulation, will return with Jesus at His Second Coming. That is why we will see His back because He will be leading the charge against the unbelieving world (those who will see His face)! He holds the keys of Hell and death for those unbelievers.

Revelation 19:11-13  And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.  (12)  His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.  (13)  And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

But to the born-again believer falling prostrate at His feet, He will touch us with His right hand and tell us not to fear❣❣❣ Which one are you, dear Reader? Are you excited about His coming or are you afraid? Do you know Him personally or do you only know of Him? I want to be sure that anyone who reads the posts on this blog can know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are going to Heaven. Have you received Christ as your Saviour? Messianic Prophecies Fulfilled by Jesus – Day 21

Prophecy of Messiah:

Numbers 24:8  God brought him forth out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn: he shall eat up the nations his enemies, and shall break their bones, and pierce them through with his arrows.

Good morning, reader! Today’s baking day 😁 Have you ever baked a cake? Whether it was made from scratch or from a box, there are necessary ingredients (like flour, eggs, oil) that have to be mixed together in order to have that wonderful aromatic and delicious outcome. 🤤 But let’s do an experiment. Try eating just one of those ingredients, like the raw egg. Not so good, huh? 🤢 One sole ingredient doesn’t produce a cake. It takes all of them, together, to produce a delicious dessert fit to eat!

The same goes for today’s prophecy. The flight to Egypt may not seem important to you but it is just one of over 300 prophecies which tell us of Messiah Jesus’ first coming! When you put them altogether with the rest, however, it is one more reason to rejoice that He is the true Messiah!! Today’s verse, all by itself, wouldn’t convince anyone that Jesus was the true Messiah. Do you see where I’m going with this?

Prophecy of Messiah Fulfilled:

Matthew 2:14-15  When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt:  (15)  And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.

This is why it’s so important to read the whole Word of God – not just a part of it. The Lord laid everything out for our benefit in 66 books. The Apostle Paul didn’t shy away from preaching all the Scriptures that would lead people to salvation through Christ Jesus.

Act 20:27  For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.

Only God’s Word is necessary to turn on the light bulb in a seeker’s heart. The Old Testament is our teacher and looks forward to the cross of Christ and to His Second Coming and reign. The New Testament teaches us from the Old Testament and encourages the Church to look forward to His Rapture, Second Coming, Millennial reign and destruction of Satan! I get goosebumps just thinking how everything in God’s Word intertwines. It’s a beautiful quilt of different colors and fabrics; each piece beautiful in itself but absolutely breathtaking when it is put together! You can look at a spark plug and not get too excited about your future vehicle. But put all the pieces together which make up a truck, well now that will cause a man’s eyes to bug out! 😂

Friend, it’s the same with God’s Word. Don’t look at it one piece at a time. But view it as pieces of a spiritual puzzle which will create our beautiful heavenly reward through Christ Jesus! We cannot see what these individual rewards are now, but as we look at each piece of Scripture, they culminate into Messiah Jesus Christ and His upcoming reign!

Rev 22:12-14  And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.  (13)  I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.  (14)  Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

Dear Reader, I realize we do not do the work of Christ to gain rewards. Nonetheless, the work that we do for Him after salvation will bring rewards for faithfulness. But to those who do not believe in Jesus as the Saviour of mankind, the reward won’t be there. In fact, judgment will be swift and harsh. Hebrews 9:27  “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:” This blog is a labor of love for those who are hurting and lost. I want all to know how they can be saved from eternal life in a burning lake of fire. I have a niece who finds this condescending on my part but please believe me when I say that caring for your soul is far from that. It is a desire to bring as many people to Heaven with me. I shudder to think of anyone going to Hell and literally burning for all eternity. When I meditate on all my lost family members, it brings tears to my eyes!!

Friend, do you know Him personally or do you only know of Him? Do you just go to church and think that’s enough? I want to be sure that anyone who reads the posts on this blog can know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are going to Heaven. Have you received Christ as your Saviour?
