1 Cor. 15:52  In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Messianic Prophecies Fulfilled by Jesus – Day 24

Prophecy of Messiah:

2 Samuel 7:16  And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.

Good morning, reader! Despite ugly weather outside, the Son should always be shining inside. 😀 Jesus Christ is the light of the world and His light shines every time I open His Word. It illuminates and pierces through the darkness of my understanding. It pricks my heart to see my sin. It’s so awesome to me to be able to read a passage for the umpteenth time and have my eyes are opened to its meaning!! Today is no different.

We see in today’s reading that God promised that David’s kingdom and his throne would be established forever. God’s Word never lies (1Samuel 15:29) and all the prophecies about Messiah Jesus will come true. Amen? Luke 3:31 tells us that the Messiah came from the house of David and Revelation 22:16 confirms it. Every verse in the Bible has a “sister” verse which answers any question our minds can produce.

Prophecy of Messiah Fulfilled:

Luke 3:31  Which was the son of Melea, which was the son of Menan, which was the son of Mattatha, which was the son of Nathan, which was the son of David,

Revelation 22:16  I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

Notice the accuracy in Bible prophecy? There is no mistaking the fact that Messiah would come from the house of David and that Jesus Christ fulfilled this prophecy. You may say that there were thousands of people who descended from the house of David; but while this may be an insignificant fact, when it is combined with the rest of the prophecies fulfilled by Jesus, it adds to the vast amounts of proof. It bears repeating a quote from “Evidence That Demands a Verdict”:

“We find that the chance that any man might have lived down to the present time and fulfilled all eight prophecies is 1 in 10 to the 17th power (1 in 100,000,000,000,000,000).” Jesus fulfilled MUCH more than 8 (Over 300)!

Just think about it! There are over 300 prophecies about the Messiah that Jesus Christ fulfilled. The number above reflects only eight of those prophecies. That ending number would be so large that the human mind cannot comprehend it. Friend, there is no one that has ever lived, or will ever live, who can fulfill even eight of these prophecies, but Jesus Christ fulfilled over 300! You must come to a realization that there is no other who could! Only God Himself can do this. The infinite God fulfilled and continues to fulfill 100% of all prophecies. The Bible teaches that if a prophet was wrong in just one prophecy, that prophet is a fraud! (Deuteronomy 18:21-22)

There are no other books that need to be added along with Scripture that will lead to salvation. No rock in Mecca, no golden plates, no soul traveling or reincarnation can lead you to be “good enough” to gain salvation. Only Jesus Christ, the Son of God and Messiah of all mankind can save:

Acts 4:10-12  Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.  (11)  This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.  (12)  Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Am I being dogmatic about this issue? You bet I am! There are not many roads to Heaven, Reader. We are not left to our own imaginations: God did not leave us without direction or instruction. The Bible is very clear about what we must do to be saved.

John 3:16-19  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  (17)  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.  (18)  He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.  (19)  And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

Do you know Him personally or do you only know of Him? I want to be sure that anyone who reads the posts on this blog can know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are going to Heaven. Have you received Christ as your Saviour? If no, your sins are not covered by His sacrificial offering of Himself. You have not been redeemed by His blood. It is no coincidence that God has placed you here for such a time as this so that you may be saved if you are not already. Messianic Prophecies Fulfilled by Jesus – Day 23

Prophecy of Messiah:

2Samuel 7:12  And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.

Isa 7:14  Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

It’s an absolutely gorgeous morning as I sit and write today’s post. Fall is here and the crispness of the morning air is welcomed after a hot summer. I can almost smell the pumpkin spiced everything as they make their way on the shelves and coffee counters! 😆

Today’s prophecy is about the Messiah coming from the seed of David. This is an important prophecy because, if you recall, Jesus was born in the City of David, also known as Bethlehem. The Jewish leaders would have recognized their Messiah had they been searching for Him. Instead, they were looking for a Messiah whose Kingdom would be set up as stated in 2Samuel 7:12. However, He first came as a babe born to a virgin, Mary, in the City of David as Isaiah 7:14 prophesied! This small detail could not be left out. The Son of God became a man and was born of a virgin in the town of Bethlehem.

Prophecy of Messiah Fulfilled:

Matthew 1:1  The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

This same Jesus will come as a King at the end of the Tribulation. This is known as His Second Coming to Christians and we anxiously await His Kingdom reign! At this same time, Israel will finally recognize that Jesus Christ is their Messiah!

Do you know Jesus the Messiah personally or do you only know of Him? I want to be sure that anyone who reads the posts on this blog can know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are going to Heaven. Messianic Prophecies Fulfilled by Jesus – Day 22

Prophecy of Messiah:

Numbers 24:17  I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth.

What a glorious day! Do you have your favorite beverage in hand and your favorite study Bible? What a way to start the day 🥰!!! Let’s get cracking and unwrap the next prophecy of Messiah and how the Lord Jesus fulfilled it!

We see in Numbers 24:17 above that Balaam was given a vision from God. Balaam says that he would see the Almighty but not now and he would behold Him but not soon. This is a prophetic passage about the coming Messiah. As well, he says that a Star would come out of Jacob, which means that the Messiah would be from one of the twelve tribes of Jacob. He also says that the Messiah is a Sceptre which would rise out of Israel. As I read this, I saw the Messiah’s coming is in two parts. The first as the Star, born in a manger, the Messenger of God, that would give the world God’s Word in the flesh. The second as the Sceptre when He returns at His Second Coming to reign in authority.

Prophecy of Messiah Fulfilled:

Galatians 4:4  But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,

Are you ready to meet Jesus Christ, the Messiah? Israel today missed His first coming. But they will all see Him when He returns as the Sceptre to rule and reign! I could not find who said this quote so I’m attributing it to a message I heard recently on YouTube. The Pastor said:

When Jesus comes at the Second Coming, it is better to see His back than His face!

Some of you may not see Jesus in this manner. How do you see Jesus, Reader? Do you see Him as a baby born in a manger? Do you see Him as your Lord and Shepherd? Do you see Him as the Comforter? Indeed He is all these things. But when Jesus comes again, He will bring judgment to the unbelieving world. (Revelation 1:17-18) The Bride, the Church that is raptured before the Tribulation, will return with Jesus at His Second Coming. That is why we will see His back because He will be leading the charge against the unbelieving world (those who will see His face)! He holds the keys of Hell and death for those unbelievers.

Revelation 19:11-13  And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.  (12)  His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.  (13)  And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

But to the born-again believer falling prostrate at His feet, He will touch us with His right hand and tell us not to fear❣❣❣ Which one are you, dear Reader? Are you excited about His coming or are you afraid? Do you know Him personally or do you only know of Him? I want to be sure that anyone who reads the posts on this blog can know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are going to Heaven. Have you received Christ as your Saviour? Messianic Prophecies Fulfilled by Jesus – Day 21

Prophecy of Messiah:

Numbers 24:8  God brought him forth out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn: he shall eat up the nations his enemies, and shall break their bones, and pierce them through with his arrows.

Good morning, reader! Today’s baking day 😁 Have you ever baked a cake? Whether it was made from scratch or from a box, there are necessary ingredients (like flour, eggs, oil) that have to be mixed together in order to have that wonderful aromatic and delicious outcome. 🤤 But let’s do an experiment. Try eating just one of those ingredients, like the raw egg. Not so good, huh? 🤢 One sole ingredient doesn’t produce a cake. It takes all of them, together, to produce a delicious dessert fit to eat!

The same goes for today’s prophecy. The flight to Egypt may not seem important to you but it is just one of over 300 prophecies which tell us of Messiah Jesus’ first coming! When you put them altogether with the rest, however, it is one more reason to rejoice that He is the true Messiah!! Today’s verse, all by itself, wouldn’t convince anyone that Jesus was the true Messiah. Do you see where I’m going with this?

Prophecy of Messiah Fulfilled:

Matthew 2:14-15  When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt:  (15)  And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.

This is why it’s so important to read the whole Word of God – not just a part of it. The Lord laid everything out for our benefit in 66 books. The Apostle Paul didn’t shy away from preaching all the Scriptures that would lead people to salvation through Christ Jesus.

Act 20:27  For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.

Only God’s Word is necessary to turn on the light bulb in a seeker’s heart. The Old Testament is our teacher and looks forward to the cross of Christ and to His Second Coming and reign. The New Testament teaches us from the Old Testament and encourages the Church to look forward to His Rapture, Second Coming, Millennial reign and destruction of Satan! I get goosebumps just thinking how everything in God’s Word intertwines. It’s a beautiful quilt of different colors and fabrics; each piece beautiful in itself but absolutely breathtaking when it is put together! You can look at a spark plug and not get too excited about your future vehicle. But put all the pieces together which make up a truck, well now that will cause a man’s eyes to bug out! 😂

Friend, it’s the same with God’s Word. Don’t look at it one piece at a time. But view it as pieces of a spiritual puzzle which will create our beautiful heavenly reward through Christ Jesus! We cannot see what these individual rewards are now, but as we look at each piece of Scripture, they culminate into Messiah Jesus Christ and His upcoming reign!

Rev 22:12-14  And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.  (13)  I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.  (14)  Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

Dear Reader, I realize we do not do the work of Christ to gain rewards. Nonetheless, the work that we do for Him after salvation will bring rewards for faithfulness. But to those who do not believe in Jesus as the Saviour of mankind, the reward won’t be there. In fact, judgment will be swift and harsh. Hebrews 9:27  “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:” This blog is a labor of love for those who are hurting and lost. I want all to know how they can be saved from eternal life in a burning lake of fire. I have a niece who finds this condescending on my part but please believe me when I say that caring for your soul is far from that. It is a desire to bring as many people to Heaven with me. I shudder to think of anyone going to Hell and literally burning for all eternity. When I meditate on all my lost family members, it brings tears to my eyes!!

Friend, do you know Him personally or do you only know of Him? Do you just go to church and think that’s enough? I want to be sure that anyone who reads the posts on this blog can know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are going to Heaven. Have you received Christ as your Saviour? Messianic Prophecies Fulfilled by Jesus – Day 20

Prophecy of Messiah:

Numbers 21:9  And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.

Good morning, reader! As I sat at my desk this morning, I pled with the Lord to open my eyes to His will for my life. It has been my goal to spend more time in His Word and prayer. When I opened His Word, I read today’s verse: Revelation 1:15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. As you know, brass was one of the strongest metal in ancient days. It was a symbol for judgment.

We see that those that were bitten by the serpents had to look up at the fiery serpent on the pole in order to live. They had to “look in order to live.” The judgment for their sin was to obey God and “look and live.” If they did not, they received God’s judgment. It is no difference with us today. Look to Jesus and live, Reader! Either way, the Israelites had to look up and so do we today!

Prophecy of Messiah Fulfilled:

John 3:14-18  And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:  (15)  That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.  (16)  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  (17)  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.  (18)  He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Have you ever noticed that the medical profession uses a similar logo? Today, people look to doctors to help them with their “physical” ailments. But doctors cannot cure the sickness of the heart. Satan’s lies deceived Adam and Eve and their own pride caused them to sin. God impressed upon my heart to show anyone reading that it is our own sinful pride that keeps us from looking up and receiving eternal life. People must look to Christ for their “spiritual” sickness, which is their sin. Jesus is the only cure for our sins. Just as Israel was bitten by the snakes due to their disobedience, they had to look to the serpent on the pole in order to live! So must we look to Jesus on the cross to receive eternal life! Back in 1887, William Ogden wrote this beautiful hymn which beautifully depicts this:

Look and Live

1 I’ve a message from the Lord, Hallelujah!
The message unto you I’ll give.
’Tis recorded in His Word, Hallelujah!
It is only that you “look and live.”

Refrain:
“Look and live,” my brother, live.
Look to Jesus now and live.
’Tis recorded in His Word, Hallelujah!
It is only that you “look and live.”

2 I’ve a message full of love, Hallelujah!
A message, O my friend, for you.
’Tis a message from above, Hallelujah!
Jesus said it, and I know ’tis true. [Refrain]

3 Life is offered unto you. Hallelujah!
Eternal life your soul shall have
If you’ll only look to Him. Hallelujah!
Look to Jesus, who alone can save. [Refrain]

4 I will tell you how I came, Hallelujah!
To Jesus when He made me whole:
’Twas believing on His name, Hallelujah!
I trusted and He saved my soul. [Refrain]

Oh what blessed words indeed! Have you looked up to the cross as Israel looked up to the serpent on the pole in order to live? Looking up to Jesus for forgiveness of sin is just not mouthing it with your lips. I did this as a Catholic but I definitely was not born again. (John 3:3 and John 3:7) It is an actual believing that Christ died for those sins of yours; acceptance of this also requires a biblical repentance. Can you imagine if you told your parents when you were young that you would never lie again but then turned around and lied that very same day? That was not repentance. That was just mouthing something without the intention of changing. Repentance requires a changing of the heart and mind and it produces a changed life! You must change direction – going from giving into your sins and turning in the opposite direction and obeying God’s Word. God’s Word says 2Corinthians 5:17  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. This is where many so-called Christians go wrong. They blabbed a prayer thinking this would make them OK in God’s eyes. But God wants the fruits of repentance in our lives to shine forth. Matthew 3:8  Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance: One who has not repented from their sins cannot bring forth good Christian fruit. It will be a struggle for that person. Others will see that your old life has never changed and won’t want that “Jesus” that you say you have in your heart. However, for the Christian, repentance brings us closer to Jesus Christ and we no longer desire to sin. We want to please Him and live for Him. A Christian is not “sinless” but a Christian does sin less than when he first was born again.

Messianic Prophecies Fulfilled by Jesus – Day 19

Prophecy of Messiah:

Numbers 9:12  They shall leave none of it unto the morning, nor break any bone of it: according to all the ordinances of the passover they shall keep it.

Good morning, reader! Has this series strengthened your resolve? Has it added to your arsenal of Scriptures which proved Jesus is the Messiah? If it has, I want you to know that you are not alone!😀 It has lit a fire in my heart and excited my spirit! As if we needed any more proof that Jesus is our Saviour, we are taught in God’s Word that it was prophesied thousands of years ago! Please feel free to leave a comment so I can rejoice with you.

We touched upon this slightly in a previous post. However, today we are digging a little more into the actual prophecy being fulfilled by Jesus. As we see in Numbers 9:12, Israel’s sacrificial lamb could not have a single broken bone. After it was roasted, none could be left until morning. Surely something this simple would not have any significance, you may tell yourself. But nothing is trivial with God and when it is combined with the actual fulfillment, it bears noticing!

Prophecy of Messiah Fulfilled:

John 19:31-36  The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.  (32)  Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him.  (33)  But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs:  (34)  But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.  (35)  And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.  (36)  For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.

As we see above, in order for Jesus to be prepared for burial, it was necessary that He be taken down from the cross before sunset because the Jews were celebrating the Sabbath. Since it was the custom of those days, if one was crucified and was not yet dead, soldiers would break their legs. Why break the legs? When hanging on the cross, the knees were bent so the person could push himself upward to be able to open the airways to breathe. Wit broken legs, they could not push up to breathe so this expedited their death. When they got to Jesus, it did not appear that it was necessary to do so therefore the soldier made sure by piercing His side. This produced a water and blood mixture, which indicated that water had formed around the heart and proved He was already dead.

How could a simple prophecy of no broken bones be even considered as part of Christ’s fulfillment of it? Maybe fulfilling one sole prophecy wouldn’t be enough, but when you take all of the Old Testament prophecies of His first coming and seeing how Jesus fulfilled them all, well then that’s something:

Josh and Sean McDowell quote Stoner in their book, Evidence That Demands a Verdict: “We find that the chance that any man might have lived down to the present time and fulfilled all eight prophecies is 1 in 10 to the 17th power (1 in 100,000,000,000,000,000).” Jesus fulfilled MUCH more than 8 (Over 300)! So just think of those odds!

Does this cause you to think, Reader? Are you a born again child of God? If not, doesn’t it make you wonder if there’s a speck of truth in the prophecies of Jesus Christ’s coming and how He fulfilled them all? How can you doubt when there is so much evidence of truth?

Do you know Him personally or do you only know of Him? I want to be sure that anyone who reads the posts on this blog can know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are going to Heaven. Have you received Christ as your Saviour? If no, your sins are not covered by His sacrificial offering of Himself. You have not been redeemed by His blood. Messianic Prophecies Fulfilled by Jesus – Day 18

Prophecy of Messiah:

Leviticus 23:36-37  Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: on the eighth day shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: it is a solemn assembly; and ye shall do no servile work therein.  (37)  These are the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD, a burnt offering, and a meat offering, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, every thing upon his day:

Good morning! I don’t know about you, but there are some antiquated laws in the State of Virginia that I’ve found absolutely ridiculous and wonder why they are still on the books. While other laws that are considered antiquated but are actually helpful make sense. Here are a couple of examples:

Virginians cannot spit on seagulls. What???? Was there really a need to put that on the books? Were people actually spitting on seagulls? And if they were, whyyyy?

In Prince William County, it is illegal for a motorist to park their vehicle on a set of railroad tracks. Well, duh! It’s actually a law everywhere in the United States I would think.

I remember when I was first saved, I could not understand why God required these sacrifices in the Old Testament. I thought they were harsh and cruel. But as I grew in grace and the Holy Spirit taught me, I began to “get it”! As I was taught about Christ’s fulfillment of these sacrifices, I saw that these same verses were a history lesson for me to learn from. I love how the Apostle Paul wrote about this to the Galatians:

Galatians 3:22-26  But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.  (23)  But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.  (24)  Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.  (25)  But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.  (26)  For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

It took a very Holy God to come to earth as a man so He could live a sinless life in order to become that perfect, spotless and sinless sacrifice for all mankind. As we look at the the different sacrifices mentioned in Leviticus 23:36-37, we see that one of those sacrifices was a drink offering. Why do you think that would that be necessary?

Prophecy of Messiah Fulfilled:

John 7:37-38  In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.  (38)  He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

John 4:14  But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

All the sacrifices point to Jesus Christ; this one in particular to Him being the Living Water. Jesus offers the water of life flowing from the Throne! All of the Holy Scriptures intertwine beautifully, don’t they? Man cannot live without water. It is the source of physical life itself! Jesus has the living water which is the source of eternal life!

Revelation 21:6  And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

Revelation 22:1  And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

Revelation 22:17  And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

Do you want that living water that will give you eternal life in Heaven? Do you know Jesus personally or do you only know of Him? I want to be sure that anyone who reads the posts on this blog can know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are going to Heaven. Have you received Christ as your Saviour? Messianic Prophecies Fulfilled by Jesus – Day 17

Prophecy of Messiah:

Lev 17:11  For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

Good morning! As we continue our series, we see many of these prophecies revolve around His blood sacrifice and the reason it was needed. Today’s post rests on this same topic; however, it never gets old and it always blesses!

As we see in today’s Scripture, it’s all about the soul. The soul lives eternally, not at the moment of birth, but from the moment we are conceived.

Jer 1:4-5  Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,  (5)  Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

The destination for our soul is dependent on whether or not we are saved by the blood of Yeshua, Jesus the Christ: we will spend the rest of eternity either in Heaven or in Hell. There is no other choice. We don’t all just simply sleep, get reincarnated or just cease to exist. The Bible says in Hebrews 9:27 that everyone’s physical body dies but afterwards come judgment! And should you live until Christ’s return at the Second Coming and are not saved, you will be judged (2Timothy 4:1). The only way we can enter God’s Kingdom is if our sins have been atoned and forgiven by the blood of the Lamb of God. There is no other way.

Jesus Christ laid down His own life, shed His own blood and placed Himself on Heaven’s altar. The life is in the blood according to today’s verse. Therefore, His life and His blood were given in place of yours. There is only one altar that matters and that is the one which is in Heaven. As I wrote in the last post, that altar could only be accessed by the One and only High Priest who could offer the sacrifice which would forgive all of mankind’s sin.

Prophecy of Messiah Fulfilled:

Mat 26:28  For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

Mar 10:45  For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

Friend, Almighty God is Holy. He cannot and will not allow any sin in Heaven. He created man with a free will, placed him in a perfect utopian type world, and there man could live forever in fellowship with God. At the beginning, earth was like a terrarium. (Genesis 2:5) This “green house” was misted and watered in this manner. No bacteria entered and everything was pure, healthy and flourished. This is what God intended for His creation. But because man had a free will, man chose to listen to Satan and as a result, man sinned. God’s initial intention was for man to live in a perfect world where no one ever got sick. It was not intended for women to have pain when they delivered their child (see Genesis 3:16). Man was not intended to deal with weeds; he was tending to the gardens and weeds did not even exist (see Genesis 3:17-19). But because of their own choices, they were kicked out of the Garden of Eden and had to live in a fallen world where sinning would be easy. God could no longer walk amongst them because of their sin and because He is holy.

A price had to be paid at this point; a ransom had to be given. Prior to Christ, a sacrificial lamb had to be offered. Its life and shedding of blood would make an atonement for the soul of man. The whole process of the sacrificial offering was pointing the Jews to look for their Messiah. But they preferred to only see Him as the Conquering King, which He will be when He returns at His Second Coming. They didn’t want to see Him as a sacrificial Lamb, a suffering Messiah. Israel’s sacrificial offerings of the time was a picture of what was to come. Because they missed His first coming, the Gentiles were given the blessed opportunity to be saved. Today, we believers look back to the cross because Jesus was the Perfect Offering for our sins. Once He comes again at the Second Coming, Israel will recognize their King as the One who died for their sins. (Zechariah 12:10) Their eyes will be opened and they will see that He suffered, bled and died for them!

Jesus gave up His heavenly throne to come to earth in human form because He knew that we could not gain entrance to Heaven because of our sin (James 2:10). He lived a sinless life so He could be that perfect Lamb of God to shed His own blood and be that perfect sacrifice. We owe Him a lot, Reader! There is nothing we can do as human beings that will ever pay for our sins. Only Jesus Christ the Messiah can do that. Messianic Prophecies Fulfilled by Jesus – Day 16

Prophecy of Messiah:

Lev 16:27  And the bullock for the sin offering, and the goat for the sin offering, whose blood was brought in to make atonement in the holy place, shall one carry forth without the camp; and they shall burn in the fire their skins, and their flesh, and their dung.

Good morning, Reader! As we learn about the prophecies of the Messiah and how Jesus fulfilled each one, my heart aches when I read those prophecies where He suffers because of my sins. 😥 It breaks my heart that He loves me so much that He would do this for me!!!

Today’s prophecy is quite revealing, in my opinion. The sacrifice of the lamb or goat in the Temple was concluded with its burning outside “the camp” or the walls of Jerusalem. The actual sprinkling of the blood from the sacrificial lamb was performed by the High Priest on the altar located behind the curtain within the Temple. I see two points that really stand out to me. Afterwards the lamb/goat was not left within the walls of the city. It was taken outside the city to burn. Although Jesus was sacrificed outside the city on the cross, He surely suffered and shed His blood within the walls when they scourged Him beyond recognition. (Isaiah 52:14, Isaiah 50:6)

The fact that Jesus was crucified outside the city means more now because to me that means that His shed blood was not just for the Jewish people but for the Gentiles as well! Salvation began with the Jews (John 4:22) but now includes everyone else! Does this not excite you? Praise the Lord that Jesus is the Saviour of all mankind and not just for Israel! \o/ (John 3:16) He took my punishment (of burning in Hell for all eternity) on that cross!

On a side note, just to get your spiritual engine “amped up,” after Jesus gave up the ghost (Mark 15:37-38), that curtain in the Temple was torn in half from TOP to BOTTOM! This curtain was 60 feet high by 30 feet wide! There was no way that man could tear the curtain himself; plus man would have torn it from the bottom upward. This tear was done by the hand of God and torn top to bottom. That curtain hid the most Holy of Holies, which held the Ark of the Covenant and the Mercy Seat. The top of the Ark of the Covenant is where the Mercy Seat was located and the high priest would sprinkle the blood on it to make atonement for sins. Our High Priest, Jesus Christ, shed His own blood and took it to the Mercy Seat in Heaven and sprinkled that precious Blood on that Mercy Seat. No longer would there need to be a curtain separating the people from the mercy seat. Now mankind would have direct access to the Father in Heaven through Jesus’ shed blood on that Mercy Seat so that all sin would be forgiven! \o/ Praise the Lord!!! Glory!

So back on point, Jesus was crucified without the camp just as prophesied in Leviticus 16:27! It’s no small detail, amen?

Prophecy of Messiah Fulfilled:

Mat 27:33  And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull,

Heb 13:11-12  For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp.  (12)  Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.

Jesus totally fulfilled this prophecy; for the entire world: but only if you believe in Him. Do you know Him personally or do you only know of Him? I want to be sure that anyone who reads the posts on this blog can know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are going to Heaven. Have you received Christ as your Saviour? Messianic Prophecies Fulfilled by Jesus – Day 15

Prophecy of Messiah:

Lev 17:11  For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

Good morning, reader! What a wonderful way to start the day – sitting in quietness and meditating on God’s goodness to us! We do not deserve it but I’m so grateful that He loves me and has forgiven my sins!

It may be difficult for some to comprehend why God would require blood. It was required in the Garden of Eden when God created “coats made of skins” for Adam and Eve to wear (Genesis 3:21). It has been part of the redemptive plan ever since. Why did God choose blood to be a part of redeeming mankind? It all had to do with the giving of one’s life in order to bring mankind back into fellowship with God. All knowing God knew that mankind would not be able to earn that fellowship by their works. Their own works didn’t cut it. After all, Adam and Eve made themselves aprons made of fig leaves. Their aprons didn’t cover the entire body. But the coat made of skins covered the entire body. What a beautiful picture! I liken the aprons to the Jews’ sacrifices in the temple: they could not fulfill total forgiveness. However, the Perfect Sacrifice of Jesus Christ’s blood (the coat made of skins) not only covers our sins but forgives us for our sins! (Psalm 103:12, Micah 7:19)

If you recall, Adam and Eve lived in a perfect environment. They were created to live forever and to live in a perfect world. They were not created to die and go to Hell. But just as it was Satan’s goal for Adam and Eve, it is his goal for all mankind. In order for fellowship to be restored, God laid out this redemptive plan that I mentioned above. We see it throughout the scriptures and it culminates with Jesus, God in the flesh, giving His own blood; but His blood actually redeems those who believe in Him and brings us back into that fellowship with God which was initially intended for Adam and Eve. Revelation 21:3 reveals to us that God Himself will dwell with His people when the New Heaven and the New Earth are created after the millennium! Praise the Lord!

So let’s get back on track and see how the prophecy of Messiah was foretold in Leviticus 17:11. We are told that the life is in the blood and it is only with the blood that atonement for sins can be made. For this very reason, the High Priest sacrificed a spotless lamb and shed its blood so atonement for his own sins and those of the people.

Prophecy of Messiah Fulfilled:

Mat 26:28  For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

Mar 10:45  For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

Rom 5:9  Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

Just as it is life saving when an extremely sick person receives a blood transfusion, so is Jesus’ blood which is given for the remission of our sins. In this case however, it’s eternally life saving. Matthew 26:28 is such a beautiful depiction. Here it says that Jesus gave his life for a ransom for many. Noah Webster captures the meaning of the word as follows:

Ransom
RAN’SOM, n.

1. The money or price paid for the redemption of a prisoner or slave, or for goods captured by an enemy; that which procures the release of a prisoner or captive, or of captured property, and restores the one to liberty and the other to the original owner. 2. Release from captivity, bondage or the possession of an enemy. 3. In law, a sum paid for the pardon of some great offense and the discharge of the offender; or a fine paid in lieu of corporal punishment. 4. In Scripture, the price paid for a forfeited life, or for delivery or release from capital punishment. 5. The price paid for procuring the pardon of sins and the redemption of the sinner from punishment. 6. To redeem from captivity or punishment by paying an equivalent; applied to persons; as, to ransom prisoners from an enemy. 7. To redeem from the possession of an enemy by paying a price deemed equivalent; applied to goods or property. 8. In Scripture, to redeem from the bondage of sin, and from the punishment to which sinners are subjected by the divine law.

Noah Webster 1828 Dictionary

Oh my word! After reading each of those eight definitions, one can understand the true meaning of ransom and what Jesus did! The price for sin is eternal punishment in Hell burning for all eternity. Jesus paid that ransom, that penalty, for our sins because we personally could not do it (Ephesians 2:8-9). You may have heard this example but it is worth repeating. I commit murder and appear before a court of law along with my lawyer. The judge sentences me to death under the law of the land. My lawyer stands up and tells the judge that he (the lawyer) will take my punishment so that I can be set free. You may wonder why someone would take that punishment on my behalf? But that is exactly what Jesus did! We don’t deserve His mercy but I’m sure glad that He paid my ransom and took my punishment! He paid the price with His own blood and suffered the excruciating pain of the crucifixion so that I can be saved!

Do you know Him personally or do you only know of Him? I want to be sure that anyone who reads the posts on this blog can know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are going to Heaven.
